Dr. Carol Wooddell

Dr. Wooddell earned Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from St, Mary's College of Maryland in 1979. She then attended the Baltimire College of Dental Surgery (University of Maryland Dental School), where she obtained her DDS degree, and aslo her residency in Pediatric Dentistry. Her pediatric dental rotations included Johns Hopkins Kennedy Institute, Baltimore School for the Blind, and the dental clinics of Mercy Hospital and the University of Maryland Hospital. These advanced rotation provided Dr. Wooddell with specialized training and experience in child behavior and psychology, as well as the treatment of children with special needs.

Upon finishing her pediatric residency program in 1987, Dr. Wooddell moved to the Northern Virginia area, where she worked as an associate in local practices for several years. In 2001, Dr. Wooddell opened her own pediatric dental practice in Burke, Virginia. For the past several years, she has been voted by her patients and her peers as a top pediatric dentist by many local organizations and publications. She has been recognized and listed as a Top Dentist in The Washingtonian magazine, as well as the Northern Virginia and Virginia Living magazines.

Dr. Wooddell belongs to the Better Business Bureau and is the member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentists, the American Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Association and the Northern Virginia Dental Society. She also volunteers a great deal of her time providing dental care for the less fortunate at the Northern Virginia Dental Clinic, in the Give Kids a Smile Program, and at the Mission of Mercy clinics.

Dr. Wooddell is married to a general dentist, Dr. Douglas Wooddell. They have two grown children and live in Springfield VA. Her hobbies include going to the beach, singing with Sweet Adelines and heirloom sewing. She is an active member of the Springfield/Burke Relay for Life and raises money for the American Cancer Society.

Kristy M.

Kristy was raised in a military family. She went to school to become a Lab Technician and has been in the dental field since 1984. She has a passion and deep love for children and found her ideal career working with Dr. Wooddell. Kristy works exceptionally well with the anxious and special needs children. The other staff refers to her as The Baby Whisperer. She has worked with Dr. Wooddell since 1989. She lives in Fairfax, VA with her husband and daughter.

Katarina W.

Kat is originally from Poland. She went to dental assisting school in Germany. She has been in the dental field since 1994. Katarina has been working with Dr. Wooddell since 2005. She lives in Springfield, VA with her husband and three children. Kat speaks fluent Polish, German, Farsi (Dari) and English.

Carolina Z.

Carolina is originally from Panama. She has been working in the dental field since 2008 and has been working with Dr. Wooddell since 2013 as a receptionist. Carolina speaks fluent Spanish and English.

Helena K.

Helena is originally from Ethiopia. She was trained as a dental assistant in Holland. She has worked in the dental field since 1993 and has worked with Dr. Wooddell since 2013. Helena lives in Springfield, VA with her husband and two children. She speaks Amharic, Tigrigha, Dutch, and English.
